Colombia – 3/19 to 3/30/2026

3/18/2026 Cali, Colombia: We flew into Cali and were driven 1 1/2 hours north to the beautiful Araucana Lodge (run by Christopher and Vivian Calonje) to start our Colombia Birdwatch Tour (organized by Chris – a big Thanks!). Our Guide throughout the 12 days was Anderson Munoz who really new his stuff! Thanks so much, Anderson! We had an AMAZING trip – the country is just stunning, the people so friendly and helpful, and the birds were glorious!

3/19/2026 La Florida, Colombia: We spent the first day at this gorgeous property catching:

A – B : Acorn Woodpecker , Andean Emerald , Andean Motmot , Beryl-spangled Tanager , Black-billed Thrush , Black-throated Mango (f) , Black-winged Saltator , Blue-winged Mountain Tanager , Bronzy Inca , Brown Violetear , Buff-bellied Coronet .

C – F : Chestnut Wood-Quail , Colombian Chachalaca , Crimson-rumped Toucanet , Crowned Woodnymph , Eared Dove , Fawn-breasted Brilliant , Flame-rumped Tanager .

G – L : Golden-naped Tanager , Golden Tanager , Green Honeycreeper (f,m), Greenish Puffleg , Long-tailed Sylph (m,f).

M – S : Multicolored Tanager , Orange-bellied Euphonia (m,f), Palm Tanager , Purple-throated Woodstar (f,m), Red-headed Barbet , Saffron-crowned Tanager , Saffron Finch , Scrub Tanager , Sickle-winged Guan , Slate-throated Redstart , Specked Hummingbird , Steely-vented Hummingbird .

T – Z : Tawny-bellied Hermit , White-booted Rackettail (m,f, juv), White-naped Brushfinch , White-necked Jacobin , White-sided Flowerpiercer (m,f).
