Colombia 3/30/2026

3/30/26 Our last day in Colombia! We spent the morning at Rio Blanco Nature Reserve where our wonderful guide, Anderson Munoz, showed us some great birds, including 3 different and difficult to see antpittas! Thanks again to Chris Calonje of Colombia Bird Watch for setting up this incredible trip at the last moment and to Anderson for guiding us! We sure appreciated all the local guides that helped us too.

A – C : Black-capped Tyrannulet , Blue-and-Black Tanager , Blue-and-white Swallow , Brown-banded Antpitta , Brown-bellied Swallow , Chestnut-crowned Antpitta .

D – P : Grass-green Tanager , Gray-browed Brushfinch , Long-tailed Sylph (m), Green-and-black Fruiteater (m), Lyre-tailed Nightjar (with chick) , distant Masked Saltator pair, Masked Trogon (m), Pearled Treerunner .

Q – Z : Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher , Slate-crowned Antpitta , Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush , Slaty Finch , Speckled Hummingbird , Tourmaline Sunangel , White-capped Dipper , White-sided Flowerpiercer (f,m).
