1/8/23 Amelia Island and area, FL: Black Skimmer at sunrise , Bonaparte’s Gull , Forster’s Tern , Red Knot , Ruddy Turnstone , Sanderling , and Willet .
1/6/23 Okefenokee Swamp, GA: Red-shouldered Hawk , Red-headed Woodpecker , Eastern Phoebe, Common Grackle , and a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker making holes.
1/1/23 to 1/3/23 It was something to see – an immense American Robin flock of hundreds swarming the skies! Some landed to eat berries. Also, Eastern Towhee , a Long-billed Dowitcher/ Short-billed Dowitcher mixed flock , Great Blue Heron , Greater Yellowlegs , Laughing Gull , Reddish Egret , Snowy Egret /Great Egret/Wood Stork flock roosting , and a Red-bellied Woodpecker .
1/1/23 Amelia Island, FL: We took a few hours wandering about the area checking beaches, ponds, and fields etc…. It was a great way to start the New Year! We came away with a Forster’s Tern and Willet studies – Baths were popular new year’s morning. Also, a Ruddy Turnstone, bathing, of course .

Yellow-rumped Warblers were on the beach and filling the nearby trees. Also: Gray Catbird , Mallard , Northern Mockingbird , Northern Cardinal , Savannah Sparrow , White Ibis , Song Sparrow , and Tufted Titmouse .
