GOING BACK IN TIME….
3/29/2024 Amelia Island, FL: A Cedar Waxwing flock was waiting for a Northern Mockingbird to finish eating berries off of a holly tree. Also: Red-shouldered Hawk , Eastern Bluebird , and Yellow-throated Warbler . A young Bald Eagle had fledged from the Crane Island nest and perched awkwardly above us!
3/20 and 3/21/2024 Amelia Island, FL: A Swallow-tailed Kite family (4) were soaring about as we drove about the island. We scrambled to get the cameras out quickly as they swooped over us. So cool to see! Also: Gray Catbird and a Ring-billed Gull and Brown Pelican flock at sunrise.
3/20 and 3/21/24 Amelia Island, FL: A Pileated Woodpecker (m) study. What an amazing creature!
3/20 and 3/21/24 Amelia Island, FL: Eastern Bluebird (f,m), Blue-gray Gnatcatcher , Black Vulture , Downy Woodpecker (f), White-throated Sparrow , Northern Cardinal (m), White-eyed Vireo , and a departing Yellow-rumped Warbler .
