Recent USA and North American Trips 11/2/23 to 11/7/23

11/6/23 and 11/7/23 Amelia Island, FL: House Finch (m), Eastern Phoebe , White-eyed Vireo , Yellow-rumped Warbler , Gray Catbird , a Common Yellowthroat duo enjoying with water, and Blue–gray Gnatcatcher.

11/6/23 Big Talbot SP pond, FL: Someone reported a Tundra Swan and we hurried down to see it. They are rare here in Florida. The lighting we knew would be poorer in the morning, but we were happy we didn’t wait since the bird apparently flew off and wasn’t around in the afternoon. There were a number of Osprey individuals fishing – always fun to watch. Also: American Avocet , Fish Crow (heard), and Wood Stork (Yes, it did swallow that fish!).

11/2/23 A quick morning trip to Melbourne, FL area: Osprey , Eastern Phoebe , Little Blue Heron (juv.) , and Anhinga .
