Jacksonville, FL: Before we headed out west on a long trip, we had to stop by and see how the colony was doing. (The Brown Pelican flock, while many individuals, were well hidden and we only saw two chicks. No pics.) The Royal Tern parents, still in the dunes, were having troupes of little ones and feeding them BIG fish. Meanwhile, the Laughing Gull young were growing fast, but parents were still gathering nest material. Black Skimmers (possibly nesting) seemed to be hanging around still. Also shown: an American Oystercatcher pair and a Semipalmated Sandpiper. PLEASE be respectful of all the birds!
6/21/21 Amelia Island, FL: An early morning Carolina Wren , Clapper Rail, and Red-bellied Woodpecker .
