6/8/24 Sweetwater Wetlands, Gainesville, FL: What a treat to see the reported King Rail with 3 youngsters roaming about beside the trail! There were 2 adults present, one was very bright with more barring and was an obvious parent (shown in the first 3 pics) and there was also a less bright adult with less barring and grayer belly (4th pic) that was often chased away. We enjoyed studying the group as we don’t often get to see this species.
6/8/24/ Gainesville, FL: We must have seen 10-12 Least Bittern individuals flying about but only caught 2 in the reeds with the camera.
6/8/24 Gainesville, FL: Anhinga (m), Boat-tailed Grackle (f), Common Gallinule , Green Heron , Limpkin , and Red-winged Blackbird (m) .
