8/21/23 JAX, FL: A glorious morning was spent catching the action at the colony. The birds are done nesting but the beach still has a variety of species: Brown Pelican , Sandwich Tern study , Ruddy Turnstone , Sanderling , Laughing Gull , Herring Gull (1st and 3rd yr), and Common Tern .

8/16 to 8/20/2023 Amelia Island, FL: An early morning zip around the island caught a hunting Red-shouldered Hawk , a Great Blue Heron , Mottled Duck (hybrid), an Eastern Bluebird family, a young Northern Cardinal , and a Tricolored Heron checking out a reflective pond.
8/1/23 Amelia Island, FL: A sweet neighbor called us over to see the Barred Owl hanging in her yard. What a beauty. Thanks, Sue!
