Sea Turtles

We happen to live near a beach where sea turtle tracks are regularly seen. One does not usually get to see the adults or the young as the female lays her eggs at night and the eggs hatch about two months later, also at night. However, three days after a nest has hatched, the turtle patrol will excavate the nest to count the hatched eggs etc… and often there are one or two stragglers in the nest. Once in a great while, a nest will erupt during the day or a female is seen making her way back to the ocean at daybreak.
