Dorado, Santa Marta, CO: The tiny habitat dots on the ebird maps say it all. Some of these birds are endemic to this mountain only and this day was a very special one. From the lodge we drove hours by 4×4 to the heights to catch these endemics. Again, a big thanks to our amazing guide Angel Ortiz! (A few species shown here are from around the lodge when we returned.)

SNAN – T : Sierra Nevada Antpitta , Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush , Sparkling Violetear , Strong-billed Woodcreeper , Tyrian Metaltail (Santa Marta) (f,m).
U – Z : White-lined Flowerpiercer (m,f), White-tailed Starfrontlet (f,m), White-tipped Quetzal (m), Yellow-crowned Redstart (another endemic to the area).
