Colombia 8/21/2026

8/21/26 El Dorado Preserve, lower area: On the 20th we went high, on the 21st we went low. Our Excellent guide, Angel Ortiz, found so many fascinating birds for us! Unfortunately we were unable to catch them all with the camera, but it sure was fun trying.

ALPHABETICALLY EACH DAY:

A – G : Band-tailed Guan , Black-hooded Thrush , Crowned Woodnymph (CO violet crowned)(m,f), Golden-bellied Flycatcher , Golden-breasted Fruiteater (f,m), Golden-Olive Woodpecker .

H – P : Keel-billed Toucan , Masked Trogan (m), Montane Foliage-gleaner , Mountain Elaenia , Pale-breasted Thrush .

Q – Z : Red-billed Parrot , Rusty-breasted Antpitta (through a tangle of brush, but still of interest!), Santa Marta Blossomcrown (m), White-bearded Manakin (f), White-sided Flowerpiercer (f), White-tailed Starfrontlet (m), White-tipped Dove .
